Google Search Engine Optimization is the most important task for any website owner if they want to receive a good steady flow of traffic to their web site or blog.

Getting a good amount of traffic to your site is not really possible without the help of the search engines.

You will not be able to get much response from the engines to help with your traffic unless you have optimized your site correctly to attract the search bot and put the search results on the pages of the search engines.

This will consist of straightforward techniques that will help the engines to find your web site by say, using an explicit word, phrase or sentence that is used on your site.

With Google search engine optimization one of the most important elements is Keywords. When you pick your key words make sure that you have researched them thoroughly and not just picked them randomly.

Try and think like the person who wants to read your article, what words will they put into the engine when looking for the information. Will it be just one word or a phrase of 2,3,4 or more words. It is worth thinking of using long tail key words as these will not normally have as much competition.

Do not try to put too many keywords in your article as the engines will spot this straight away and penalize you. How to use the keywords in your article and how many you should use will be talked about in another article. This is just a brief overview.

The use of meta tags in your site is also important but will not be taken into this article.

Correct Submission and how to Get indexed Properly

The most important thing to remember when using Google search engine optimization is that engines use crawlers to find web sites.

This makes it doubly important that you submit your site correctly to get it indexed.

If this is done correctly then you will get indexed by the search engine and you will have traffic coming to your site on a regular basis.

URL Normalization:

URL normalization is the best way of getting noticed by the search engines. When your site is comparatively new then getting Google search engine optimization correctly with a standardized link is important. You may have multiple links on your site but if you have one main link then this will be found by the search engines and could give you a greater preference.

Link building is a very important part of getting traffic to your site. There are lots of different methods of getting back links to your site. You could have a link exchange with another web site that is similar to yours. You can comment on other sites and get back links that way. There are plenty of other ways to get back links that will be discussed in other articles.
